Table Talk
Questions drawn from I've Got Healing in My View. Choose the set that fits whoever is with you. One good question is enough.
Individual adults
These questions are for quiet, honest reflection in the presence of God.
- 1Where in your life have you felt like you were seeing 'people like trees walking,' and how comfortable are you telling Jesus that your clarity is still partial?
- 2Who are the people in your life who have faithfully carried you to Jesus when your own strength was low?
- 3Is there an area of growth or healing where you need to step away from public opinions and spend private time with the Lord?
Couples
These questions are for two people sharing a life together to discuss with mutual grace.
- 1How can we better help each other carry heavy burdens to Jesus in prayer rather than trying to fix everything on our own?
- 2In what area of our shared life are we currently in the middle of a progressive process that requires patience with God's timing?
- 3How can we create more quiet, protected spaces in our home so we can hear the Lord clearly together?
Families
These questions can be asked around the meal table and adapted for various ages.
- 1When is a time someone helped you get through a hard day or brought you to God in prayer?
- 2Why do you think Jesus took the man away from the noisy crowd before he healed him?
- 3What is one thing in our family life that we need to trust God to help us see more clearly?
Small groups
These questions are designed for open, multi-voiced sharing among group members.
- 1What makes it difficult in our culture to admit when our spiritual understanding or healing is only partial?
- 2How has being part of Christian community helped you when you could not find the faith to pray for yourself?
- 3What does it look like in practical terms for us as a group to bear one another's burdens without rushing the process?
Youth
These questions invite real conversation about daily life and faith without preaching.
- 1Why is it sometimes hard to be completely honest with God and close friends about what we are actually going through?
- 2Have you ever felt like you only understood something about faith partially, and what helped you make sense of it later?
- 3Who is someone you trust enough to talk to when life feels confusing or overwhelming?
Children
Tell the story of Jesus leading the man out of town and gently touching his eyes two times so he could see clearly.
- 1Who brought the blind man to Jesus to ask for help?
- 2How do you think the man felt when he could see clearly?
- 3Who is one friend you can help or pray for this week?
