Walking in Truth and Bearing Burdens

They came to Bethsaida. Some people brought a blind man to him and begged him to touch him.

Mark 8:22

Spiritual formation takes shape when we move from hearing the Word to practicing it in our ordinary lives. The unnamed friends in Bethsaida showed us what faithful community looks like by physically guiding someone to Jesus and begging for his mercy on their friend's behalf.

Today, obedience means choosing to bear someone else's burden while also remaining honest about our own limitations. We do not have to fix everything ourselves; our role is simply to bring people into the presence of Christ through prayer, presence, and practical help.

At the same time, we must practice the humility of the man who allowed himself to be led outside the village and admitted when his vision was still blurry. True discipleship thrives in this rhythm of mutual care and authentic dependence on the Lord.

Putting Faith into Practice

How can you actively carry another person toward Jesus while remaining honest about your own need?

Steps for Today

  • Pray specifically by name for someone in your family, neighborhood, or church who is navigating a difficult season.
  • Send a simple, unhurried message of encouragement to that person without offering hollow solutions.
  • Write down one area where you need to stop hiding behind self-sufficiency and ask for prayer.
